Shukra Pradosh Gate. Shiva's Post 14.07.2023

The Shiva fast (Pradosh vrat) is observed by adherents of Shaivism on the 13th lunar day on the waning and growing Moon (twice a month).
That day, at the time of sunset of which the 13th lunar day falls, is considered a day of fasting.
And, since in this case there is a binding to the sunset times, it is important to understand that these may be different days for different cities.

It is believed that those who fast at this time receive the favor of Shiva (who gave the teachings of yoga to humanity) and his wife, Parvati (as well as his entire family and tamed animals), and he (they all) they contribute to the deepening of knowledge and enhance the effect of yogic and tantric practices and rituals.

Yogins who observe this fast can achieve Moksha (enlightenment, liberation from the burden of subsequent rebirths) and receive forgiveness for their transgressions and atonement for sins.

Also in some scriptures it is said that on this lunar day Shiva cleanses the Earth and people from negative karma.

"Pradosh" means getting rid of dosha (dosha = problem/defect acquired as a result of sinful actions in the past).

The most significant Pradosh fast is considered to be Mahapradosh, preceding Shivaratri (in February-March), as well as Shani Pradosh, Soma Pradosh and Bhumi Pradosh. Posts these days will lead to more serious transformations.

Friday is under the patronage of Shukra — Venus. Love is the nature of the soul. The energy of love of the Absolute is carried out by Venus, Shukra.

Shukra, the only one among the gods, knew the secret of the resurrection of the dead – love conquers death. Carnal love, which arose as an attraction of feelings, sublime, pure and selfless love, is represented in the heavenly hierarchy by the great Shukrachariya, Ushanas, the god of the planet Venus. He is the teacher of demons, the great teacher of all of us, because in our desire to love, we often in this world pursue only truly demonic desires to satisfy our feelings, the desire to be a Purusha, a Enjoyer. Shukra, the god of the planet Venus, is our strict teacher, the cause of disappointments in love, which will haunt as long as we strive to take a dominant position in love. He teaches us to love, to have compassion, to sympathize, to forgive… He is the greatest and fairest teacher of Love.

Shukra is considered the strongest of the seven sons of Bhrigu and his wife Puloma.
Shukra was Prahlad's Guru (mentor). (Kamba Ramayana, Yuddha Kanda).

Shukra worshipped Shiva and received from him the Mritasanjivani mantra (a mantra with the power to resurrect the dead). (Vamana Purana, Chapter 62).

Shukra prevented the addiction to alcohol. (M.B. Adi Parva, Chapter 76, Verse 57).

Shukra lives with other asuras on the top of Mount Meru. All the precious stones are owned by Shukra. Even Kubera (the god of wealth) lives by borrowing one-fourth of the wealth of Shukra. (M.B. Bhishma Parva, Chapter 6, Verse 22).

Shukra was among those who visited Bhishma as he lay on a bed of arrows. (M.B. Shanti Parva, Chapter 47, Verse 8).

Once Shukracharya was a priest of the Emperor Prithu. (M.B. Shanti Parva, Chapter 59, Verse 110).

He got the name Shukra because he came out through Shivalingam (Shiva's penis) and thereby became the son of Parvati. (M.B. Shanti Parva, Chapter 289, Verse 32).

Shukra learned Shiva Sahasranam (the thousand names of Shiva) from sage Thandi and taught it to Gautama. (M.B. Anusasana Parva, Chapter 17, Verse 177).

In the Mahabharata, Anusasana Parva, Chapter 85, Verse 129, it is said that Bhrigu had seven sons: Shyavana, Vajrasirsha, Shuchi, Aurva, Shukra, Savana and Vibhu.

At an advanced age, Shukra saw Vanaprastha and reached heaven. (M.B. Shanti Parva, Chapter 244, Verse 17).

In the Mahabharata, Shukra was given some other names such as Bhargava, Bhargavadayada, Bhrigushreshtha, Bhrigudvaha, Bhrigukulodvaha, Kaviputra, Kavya and Ushanas.

The compassionate Shukra became the spiritual teacher of demons, because who needs compassion more than these unfortunate ones.
